Tablet + ICS in person = Sci-Fi
I swear to god, sometimes I look at modern tech and I think I’m watching a sci-fi flick. My buddy updated his tablet today to Ice Cream Sandwich (aka ICS aka Android 4.0) and the display is easily the most beautiful, fluent, futuristic thing I have ever seen. Just looking at someone holding a device as slim and sleek as a tablet running ICS is a nerds wet dream.
Rift going free(ish) to play
Rift is a pretty cool MMORPG game that’s really only downside has been that its an MMO and requires a monthly stipend to enjoy. Well not anymore, well kinda. Much like World of Warcraft, starting today Rift will have what they are coining “Rift Lite” fucking gay name if you ask me but the idea is good. First 20 levels (that’s character levels) are free and you get to roam 4 (apparently large) zones.
This change is coming via a patch which also includes some goodies like player marriage (fucking hoMMOs) and a two-player mode called the River of Souls Chronicle. This intrigues me.
Having only lightly touched Rift because of the monthly fee I am certain to give this little bad boy a full fledged (to level 20) go now. You?
Counting down to The Walking Dead
Did you pick up your machete? Is your pistol loaded? And most importantly, is your DVR set?
The Walking Dead returns in just 11 days! After a hiatus the show is set to comeback mid season for seven more episodes starting Sunday, February 12th, at 9pm EST. AMC has been pushing this return hard including a little sneak peek of the upcoming episode “Nebraska”:

Jack White solo album coming
As a huge fan of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs I was very pleased to hear that front man Jack White is releasing a solo album, “Blunderbuss”, very soon. Below is the first released track “Love Interruption”
Jack White has said that the album happened purely by accident. ”A few months ago, we had a session booked and someone didn’t show up,” says White, “so I said, ‘I guess we’ll do some of my songs’ . It kick-started the whole process.”
“These songs were written from scratch,” White has said of the album,” [they] had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas.”
While I personally have not been a huge fan of the work he has done on other artists albums I am very intrested to see more stuff from White with himself as the lead instead of the “feat.”.
Blunderbuss is set for an April 24th release date on his own record label, Third Man. Look forward to me ranting (good or bad) about that come the 24th.

Gearing up for February 7th
In the gaming world each year around the holiday season blockbuster title after blockbuster title seems to pour onto the shelves. This past holiday we saw Gears of War 3, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and of course The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Just to name a few. Though, once the new year hits us the new releases turn to shit. That is until now, or next week, February 7th where these gems might just rise through the rotting pile of feces that is the winter release schedule.

New Game of Thrones season 2 trailer
Okay, Ill admit, I am a fucking fan boy for this show. Swords, boobs, dragons… who wouldn’t be? Plus a freaking midget! Nice. So season two starts in just over two months (April 1, happy April Fools!) so the trailers are coming in and this one “Shadows” gives us a little story talk. Enjoy
